Established in 1986, the College of Fine, Performing and Communication Arts (CFPCA) serves over 2,500 students majoring in 16 undergraduate and 11 graduate programs - many of which are nationally accredited - through its departments:  Department of Communication, Department of Music, the James Pearson Duffy Department of Art and Art History and the Maggie Allesee Department of Theatre and Dance. The college's sheer size and diversity make it a major force in the life of Wayne State University and in the Greater Detroit Metro area. Its location offers students easy access to the very best of the cultural riches of the area:  museums, galleries and professional performance venues.
